Galway soprano Aimee Banks has won the Overall Vocalist Award (under 18s) at the Arklow Music Festival. She is pictured here with adjudicator Niamh Murray, being presented with the Kevin O'Leary & Andrew Enriquez Memorial Cup. The festival was a successful one for the Moycullen born singer, who was also awarded first place in the Irish Air Competition (u18) for her a cappella rendition of trfican na bPaiste', and first place in the Vocal Solo (u18) for her performances of 'Dream Song' and 'Una Donna Quindici Anni'. Aimee studies under the direction of Kathleen Tynan at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and is a fifth year student of Colaiste na Coiribe.
